Congratulations to Andy Binns who passed 200 1st XV appearances in the game against Redruth in March. He made his first appearance for Moseley in 1994, has been top scorer, Player of the season, and Captain, while playing in many different positions.

Congratulations to Richard Stott who passed 100 1st XV league appearances, including as a replacement. He made his first appearance for Moseley in the 2000-01 season as a flanker.

Congratulations to Gareth Taylor whose record of consecutive league appearances has been extended to 90 (1/2/2003 to 29/04/06)

Congratulations to Nathan Bressington (1) on joining, at Harrogate, the long list of players who have scored a record three tries in a league game for Moseley, a position he held for precisely 11 minutes, before a 4th try moved the record on to an entirely new level!

Congratulations to Nathan Bressington (2) who scored three tries again against Launceston to bring his total to 20, beating Jim Aston's club league try-scoring record in a season of 18. Nathan's 36 tries in a league career at Moseley breaks Daragh O’Mahony's career record of 32.

Congratulations to our famous five, who all started in England Counties' win against France amateurs in March 2006. Rugby Times gave "Five Star Moseley" a front page headline, and quoted John Beale saying how proud Moseley are of our Minis and Colts sections where four of the five developed.

2nd XV Stars

A fairly successful season for the Strags, victories over the Academy sides of Worcester and Leicester being the highlights, and the disappointment being how the season seemed to fade away after Xmas with a lot of cancellations late in the day.  Hopefully this will be addressed in the planning for next season's fixtures when it is anticipated that a lot more mid-week games will be arranged.  This will of course have the added benefit of allowing First XV bench players (back up to 7 next season) to get some valuable game time, making Strags fixtures even more watch able.

Overall we played a total of 67 players in the 18 games, 23 of whom also experienced 1stXV rugby during the season. Top points scorer was Ally Bressington (prior to him moving over to neighbours Stourbridge) with 69 points in 10 games (6T,7P and 9C) but other notable performances were Andy Gray's 6 try's in 14 games, Aaron Higgins's 5 try's in 9 games and last but not least, David Hunt's 6 try's in 7 games after coming back from a long injury break.

Others who should not be forgotten, players such as Dan Grant, ever present this season in the second row, and Jon Critchlow with 17 appearances in the backs.  Both are developing nicely and are very important players for the team.  Players to look out for next season include  Aaron Higgins, Jon Critchlow, Chris Buck and Phil Reynolds in the backs, and Craig Lea, Ben Blackwall, and Sam Webb in the forwards.  All could maintain the Moseley tradition of young talent being given a chance.

Our thanks to them all for some hugely enjoyable games. All 67 deserve a more than a mention but in the space available here are the top contributors.
