Profile - Adam Balding

Back Row, Born 1979, (7th Dec Coventry) Adam signed for Gloucester from Leicester Tigers (where he
made 110 first team appearances for his debut in 1998 for 2004-05 and has since made over 50 appearances for the Premiership side scoring 12 tries. An England ‘A’ international (has played for England at every age-group level) and was selected for the England 7s squad for the World 7s Series in Chile and Argentina in January 2002. He ended the 2004-5 season as Gloucester’s skipper and started the 2005-06 as their first choice number eight before he fractured a cheek bone in three places on the opening weekend of the season against Worcester.

Unfailingly direct and powerful, Balding was one of Gloucester’s players of the season in 2005-06 and was returning to his richest form when he sustained a knee injury that ruled him out of the end of that season. The 2006-07 season saw him make only 11 appearances, but now back to full fitness the opportunity of playing at Moseley gives him the chance to not only make an impact at Billesley Common but also challenge for the backrow starting line-up in the Premiership.
