R地達 Learning Zone at Billesley
展e are pleased to announce the opening of the R地達 Learning Zone at the
Moseley RFC site on Billesley Common. The Learning Zone is a Playing for Success
Study Support Centre and is jointly funded by Moseley Rugby Club, the Department
for Education and Skills and Birmingham City Council.
The Learning Zone痴 aims are to work with schools in the local community to
raise standards in literacy, numeracy and ICT skills using rugby as a theme and
the sports ground as a resource. This term pupils from Yardley Wood and
Billesley Primary schools have attended, next term we will be adding pupils from
Swanshurst and Bishop Challoner Secondary schools.
The Learning Zone is also available to the coaching staff and players as a fully
equipped IT training centre using state of the art software to analyse match
performance and develop strategies for forthcoming games. In return, the players
have given their own time to work with the pupils to improve their skills.
Pupils who attend the R地達 Learning Zone, along with their families, are
invited to attend a celebration evening where they are awarded certificates and
prizes in recognition of their achievements. In the photograph pupils from
Yardley Wood and Billesley Primary Schools received awards from Alex Hadley,
James Rodwell and Paul Arnold.
