Profile - Charley Thomas

Position: Prop, born 1989 (17th May) Charley started with the ‘Red and Blacks’ in the under 10s and progressed through all the Mini and Junior age groups playing representative rugby for North Midlands at most levels.

In the Moseley under 15s he also had kicking duties on a number of occasions including a match against Dusty Hare’s Newark side at Billesley. He had the longest kick from hand any spectators had seen from a 14 year old!

No doubt taking after his father, an ‘illustrious’ back row/prop for Birmingham Exiles, in his mini and junior career he played just about every position in the team including fly half and centre as well as backrow and his now specialist position of prop.

Usually very resilient Charley was unlucky to miss out on England opportunities at Under 16 due to a broken leg. He has represented North Midlands at most age groups most recently at Under 20 level in the 2008/09 U20 County Championship.

The Former Solihull school student played for the Midlands at U20 level in 2008 and joined the RFU academy last season. As with all products of Moseley coach Terry Malins, Charley has a good knowledge of the game along with excellent hands and a remarkable turn of speed for a big man.

Weight: 16 stone 4lbs (104kg)

Height: 6’ 2” (1.9m)
