Moseley 51 Sedgley Tigers 17
Moseley grabbed five precious points as they blitzed Sedgley Tigers with eight tries for a 51-17 victory. It was their highest ever home points score and the win puts them two points ahead of Esher and still on track for next season’s Championship. Lowly Sedgley were no pushovers and frustrated Moseley in the first half with their gritty defence and ability to counter attack.
It took a try on the stroke of half-time to edge Moseley 15-5 ahead of the Manchester outfit. However, it was all Moseley from the start of the second half as Paul Arnold brushed aside defenders and powered over from 15 metres. After that a relaxed Moseley played some of their best rugby of the season with dominant forward play creating endless chances. They scored tries through Dan Norton (2), Nathan Bressington, Paul Arnold, Terry Sigley, Dan Osleton, James Rodwell and a penalty try. Sedgley scored three tries through Peter Swatkins, Chris Hall and Chris Wilkinson and their gutsy efforts deserved a fourth for a bonus point.
