Profile Bevon Armitage
Moseley sign Armitage
Moseley Rugby Club has pleasure in announcing the signing of centre Bevon Armitage.
Bevon has extensive experience of championship rugby with over 50 appearances in a two year stay at Doncaster Knights (2008 to 2010), where he was a team mate of current Moseley full back Anthony Carter. Last season he made 26 starts scoring 5 tries.
Prior to playing for the South Yorkshire club, Armitage made almost 50 appearances for Esher (where he was selected for England Counties against Ireland) and in total has played against Moseley 4 times – scoring a try on one occasion.
In August 2010 he joined French side Nice Rugby (following in his brother’s footsteps) but has opted to return to English rugby with Moseley.
Bevon’s style of play has been described as a mix of his brothers (current England internationals Delon and Steffon) - good in close contact whilst also being fast and direct.
The Armitage brothers moved to Britain from Trinidad 18 years ago and were first introduced to rugby at Hatfield in Hertfordshire. All three have all moved successfully into senior rugby.
There are three other children in the family with Guy, 18, a Daily Mail Schools Cup winner at Wellington College, Joel, 14, as well as Juanita, nine, who also plays rugby.
