A message from the Chairman
I am sure we all share the disappointment of seeing our Club lose its second tier status.
Finance these days plays a significant part in the outcome of our league position. I have always ensured that the Club is based on a solid financial footing, avoiding the difficulties we faced in the late 1990’s. We don’t have the benefit of having a major investor behind us and therefore rely on local sponsorship and the income streams generated by the Club management.
We still have much to be proud of, with the new stand the envy of many Championship Clubs. The revenue from this is now gathering pace and will go forward to fund our team.
I am pleased that Kevin Maggs our Director of Rugby is staying with us and I have every confidence in him to return us to The Championship. The loss of the RFU funding will have a drastic effect and therefore some of our current players will not be with us next year. We now have a firm structure in place under Kevin where we have a clear pathway into the first XV. This includes our successful amateur club side, Moseley Oak. Opportunities will therefore arise for our own home grown talent to push for places in the first team.
Off the pitch we have reviewed our pricing structure and compared ourselves with other clubs in National 1. We have decided to retain our season ticket prices at last year’s level. There will be 15 home league games next season, which equates to £11.33 per match at adult prices and is a saving of £55 on the gate price. (There will, of course, be no ‘B & I Cup!)
Next season all children under 16 will be admitted free of charge.
We will not be making available a ticket exchange. The administration involved and collaboration with our IT suppliers made it uneconomical to continue. We will however make free guest tickets available to members at selected games throughout the season.
Free parking at Swanshurst school will continue for season ticket holders, who will also have free entry to the new stand.
Season ticket holders are entitled to apply for tickets for international matches and application forms for six Autumn games will be available on the club website in June.
I would encourage you to become season ticket holders again this year. Your support is extremely important to us. If you have any contacts who might like the opportunity to invest in Birmingham Moseley we would be very pleased to hear from them. Sponsorship ranges from programme advertising to main stand sponsorship. As they say every little helps.
I thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you next season.
