1987/88 Courage Leagues began.

 

1987/88: Courage League National Division 1. 

In the top tier 12 clubs, including Moseley, played each other in just one league fixture per year, with no set date for fixtures.

 Relegation: Two clubs down.

 

Champions: Leicester.

 

Relegated: Coventry and Sale.

 

Promoted from National Division 2: Rosslyn Park and Liverpool St Helens.

 

 Points were awarded as follows:
 
4 points awarded for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 simply for playing.

 

Nottingham v Moseley was the very first League game, at Beeston on the 5th September 1987.
