Under 9 Match Report V Camp Hill (away) Sun 12/10/2014

Camp Hill (55) V Moseley (255) - Sunday 12th October 2014

Camp Hill V Moseley Bears Game 1 (5-50)

Bears – Jonny B, Louis, Dylan, Henry F, Stanley, Tom, Frankie, Harvey

A lovely Sunday morning started off by a great Bears performance. Dylan, Louis, Jonny and Stanley showed some exemplary tackling to repeatedly stop Camp Hill in their tracks, push them into touch, force turnovers and steal dropped balls.  Amazing attacking play which commenced each time with Tom saw Dylan, Harvey, Jonny, and Louis score delightful, weaving tries, with super support from Frankie and Stanley. The first half finished with the Bears 0-25 ahead, and so the coaches enforced a 3 pass rule for the second half to encourage more passing play.  The second half saw Henry come on for Harvey and the crowds were treated to an almost text-book team try involving every member of the team, with Stanley bringing the ball home.  0-30. Brilliant, relentless tackling from Louis, Dylan, Henry, Tom, Stanley and Dylan enabled Bears to repeatedly gain the ball back and more tries were scored by Dylan, Louis, Stanley and Frankie (who ran through 3 players at one point).  Camp Hill came good with a great run to score and a very exciting game ended 5-50.  Well done, Bears!

Camp Hill v Moseley Sharks (20-25)

Sharks - Aiden, Billy, Ethan, Jack, Max, Nathan and Noelie

The Sharks got off to a flying start with excellent passing and team work as they quickly pressed Camp Hill back for Nathan to score the first try. Camp Hill responded with a quick try from the whistle as the Sharks failed to get the crucial tackles in. We saw a good run by Jack who found Noelie and he stormed through to score the 2nd try. Camp Hill were again quick off the blocks and straight through the Sharks defence to score, it was going to be a tight game. The Sharks passed well with some strong tackles coming in from Camp Hill but again Noelie had the ball and there was only one place he was heading, you guessed it 3rd try for Moseley Sharks. Camp Hill came back for their third try before half time15:15 nicely set up a tense 2nd half.

Camp Hill set off from the whistle but the Sharks stayed strong, they tackled solidly and eventually turned over the ball just before the try line. With swift ball skills they passed along the line to Noelie who then set off on one of his amazing runs the full length of the pitch to score a try. Camp Hill were pinned back quickly but somehow managed to get the ball onto the wing and they had a great run to score try number 4. We then had crucial tackles going in from all the boys on both sides as they strived for the win but it was Noelie who picked up a great ball to turn on his heels run the length of the pitch to secure the win. Way to go Moseley

Camp Hill V Moseley Blues (0-50)

Blues – Aled, Jacob, Adam, Henry T, Millun, Ben, George A

Another exhilarating match started with a super try from George who set the tone of the game.  0-5. Tough, tenacious tackling from Ben, Henry, Millun, Aled and the ever-improving Jacob was a delight to watch followed by some awesome tries by Aled and George taking the Blues into the break 0-25 to the good.

Henry scored right from the restart (0-30) and more superb tackling from Ben, Adam and Millun then saw Jacob make a smart pass to Aled who scored once more (0-35).  Jacob, Henry, Adam, Aled and Millun tackled time after time to deny Camp Hill any headway and some beautiful passing meant that the crowds were wowed with some stonking tries from Adam, Jacob and Henry before the final whistle made it 0-50. Brilliant Blues!

Camp Hill v Moseley Eagles (5- 30)

Eagles - Daniel, George W, Harry, Joe, Jonny D, Joshua and Sam

The Eagles got off to a flying start with a try from Sam within the first minute and they went from strength to strength. Excellent tackling saw the Eagles turn the ball over with a strong run from Joshua to make it 0:10. The whistle blew and the Eagles were pushing Camp Hill back, Harry put in a strong tackle regaining possession and we saw Joe head off for try number 3. Camp Hill picked themselves up to go on a great run and score but with just 3 passes from the restart Harry drove the ball across the line for try number 4 the Eagles were on fire 5:20 at half time.

From the start of the second half the Eagles stayed strong as a team, they tackled well, kept up sustained pressure on Camp Hill allowing Joshua to scoop up a loose ball and run, seeing Joe on the wing for support he passed for Joe to score. Camp Hill were unable to get out of their own half with Joshua breaking through to score try number 6. A solid, strong  performance from the Eagles 5:30 final score.

Camp Hill V Moseley Bears Game 2 (0-45)

Louis showed how it was done by some awesome tackling form the off, following by stealing the ball and scoring a try. (0-5). Dylan then stole a dropped ball to find Tom who passed to Harvey who brought the ball home to make it 0-10.  Jonny then scored 2 wonder tries supported by Stanley, Louis and Henry and then, just before half time a great run and pass back from Louis enabled Harvey to find Henry who scored another before the break.  0-25

The second half started with battling efforts from Harvey and Henry who nearly scored again but was tackled just before the line.  Tom then passed to Stanley who stormed through and another Bears try followed. 0-30. Great tackling from Dylan, Louis, Henry, and Harvey kept Camp Hill well and truly at bay and some sublime passing from Tom, Dylan, Frankie and Jonny enabled Louis, Dylan, and Jonny to all score again.  Final score 0-45 – the boys were jubilant.

Camp Hill V Moseley Eagles Game 2 (0-30)

The final match of the day was another uber exciting one where Moseley Eagles played like men, suffering a few injuries along the way (not that that stopped them). Tackling was supreme from Harry, George W, Josh, and Joe in the first half and the 3 pass rule also meant some lovely passing rugby was witnessed.  Exquisite tries came from Josh, Harry, and Joe to finish the first half 0-15.   The second half saw more of the same with George, Harry, Daniel, and Henry battling to defend, whilst superb tries were scored by Sam and George.  Some truly exemplary passing came from Josh in two of those tries who ensured that Camp Hill couldn’t catch him, that he found his very well-placed team mates and that Moseley came home triumphant.  0-30.
