Moseley 35 Harrogate 19
Moseley played a very good first half were deservedly up 22-0 at half-time. It was the forwards who put that score on the board starting with a try by flanker Neil Mason whom played a storming game in what could have been his last before being recalled to Worcester to replace their captain Pat Sanderson who is in the England squad.
Hooker Dean Bick then scored a true hat-trick of tries, one after the other, after being set up by a rampant pack. And there could have been a fourth but it was disallowed!. He scored in the 22nd, 26th and 51st minute. Ollie Thomas kicked a penalty and two conversions in the first half. With his third try in the second half, Bick emulated the feat of another Moseley hooker, Richard Protherough who scored three tries against Henley Hawks on March 16th 2002 at Bournbrook.
Harrogate have always been resilient and they fought back well to score tries by centre Maifea Maifea who broke through the middle to score after 54 minutes and winger Steve Parsons whose speed was impressive when put away on the right to score six minutes later. Scrum-half Mark Chester converted both tries.
At last Moseley's backs came into the act when Nathan Bressington scored his sixth League try to keep him on a par with Bick. Prop Jimmy Browne was shunted over by Harrogate in the 73rd minute, a great fight-back but, on the stroke of time, Thomas kicked a penalty to give Moseley a bonus-winning win.
