Market Harborough 8 Moseley 8 - Investabroad National Colts Cup Round 5

Moseley Colts win on away ‘draw’ rule.

It was a tough encounter with a depleted Moseley Colts XV having to overcome a treacherous pitch which had been cleared of snow the previous day.

The Colts stood up well against the odds with a hostile home crowd and a penalty count against of 26-7 from the Leicestershire Society Referee.

Moseley took an early lead with a well worked try with winger Dan Micklewright going over in the corner. Market Harborough replied with a penalty just before half time to go into the break at 3-5.

Harborough then scored a try against the run of play to make it 8-5.

However, Moseley dug deep and after a lot of possession they gained a penalty close to the posts which Nathan Walmsley slotted.

The Colts then had to defend the final five Minutes with Harborough having a penalty kick from a difficult position to win the game in the last play of the game that failed.

A great effort from the boys in ‘Red and Black’ who now progress to the National Quarter Finals.
