National Colts Cup - Sponsored by Investabroad Properties
This weekend the Colts enter the National Colts Cup competition with a visit to Worcester Students in Round 2. Moseley received a bye through round one, whilst Worcester Students’ opponents (Lichfield) withdrew.
The competition is run by the East Midlands Rugby Union and was established in their Centenary Year (1997/1998) when the inaugural competition involved 111 teams and was won by Moseley who beat Leeds 8-3 in the final at Franklin Gardens (Northampton Saints RFC). This season’s entries exceeded 200.
The 1999/2000 season saw the introduction of the Plate competition for all those clubs who play and lose in the rounds 1-3.
Moseley have a proud record in the competition including being runners up in 2004/05 (against Harlequins) and more recently losing at the semi final stage against Bury St Edmunds in 2006/07. The full draw and results can be found at http://www.emru.co.uk/
The competition is this year sponsored by Investabroad, a property investment company run by former Moseley chairman Peter Veitch.
Investabroad Properties offer “a comprehensive and carefully selected portfolio covering every kind of property in some 30 countries.
