Senior Academy Match Report V Market Bosworth (Away) Sat 06/10/2007

Market Bosworth 8 Moseley Colts 10 - 6th October 2007

Moseley colts travelled over to Market Bosworth with a vastly different team to the previous week. The team showed only two players started in the same position and eight positional changes. The intention was to help the player’s development by playing in other positions to make them aware of different requirements to play.

Moseley colts made hard work of beating Market Bosworth by 12-8 and the better team, on the day, did not win. Full credit to Bosworth for being totally committed in defence. If they took their penalty kicks it would have been a different result.

A pleasing aspect from the game was James Weaver playing his first game at hooker and excelling with his ball carrying. Dan Lavander contributed here massively and played his best game of the season.

Clark Hands, playing centre for the first time, was responsible for both Moseley tries. Clark made the break to put Lee Nixon over for a try in the corner before half time and then scored himself from another outside break. Clark just needs to know what to do when the try line appears!!!

Also, every member of the colts has now started a game and a special mention to Marcus Chandler for his first start in a Moseley shirt. The challenge for the players now is to recognize what the problems are they face during a game or practice and come up with solutions to them. The players, to develop their game, need to play to the pattern of play and work on their decision-making, working out what the best option to take.
