Moseley 38 Droitwich 15 - 20th January 2008

Once again the all weather pitch came to the rescue as other games in the league were being cancelled due to the wet conditions, Moseley were able to welcome Droitwich to Billesley for the 1st time. Also this was the first game of the season when we had a 100% squad turn out with Jack Pons making his season debut for the team due to school and county commitments and a number of other players returning from injury.
The game was played a great pace and again showed that with sufficient possession we are able to show the quality that we have in the backs of whom Jack made some surging runs from full back. This was not a one way game with Droitwich (without a regular front row) competing well in the forwards and strong defence in the backs. However the territory and possession favoured Moseley with Danny Micklewright scoring three tries, Liam Lloyd two and Curtis one.
This was a good game for Moseley but there a few areas of their where improvements are required such support play and not allowing individuals to become isolated and resulting turnover ball. Another hard encounter awaits the team next week with an away trip to Bridgnorth subject to weather conditions.
