- DON'T MISS THE BIGGEST RUGBY 7s IN THE MIDLANDS
Now in its 3rd year, the tournament has grown into the largest rugby 7s in the Midlands. The event is held in memory of gifted young player Aaron Boyce, who was only 16 when he died suddenly in 2005. All proceeds are being split between Guide Dogs and Wooden Spoon, the rugby charity supporting disadvantaged kids. Last year’s event raised £7,570 and the aim is to smash that total in 2008. |

On
Saturday 17th May, from 10.30am, the biggest rugby 7s tournament in the
Midlands, is coming to Moseley. In addition to great rugby, there will be
extensive off field family entertainment throughout the day.
Teams
confirmed to take part include Woodrush, Moseley, Camp Hill, Selly Oak,
Bromsgrove, Old Halesonians, Sully RFC, University College Birmingham, Five
Ways , Old Yardleians, Bromsgrove Old Boys, Harborne, Boyce’s Barbarians,
Birmingham Medics, Lordswood Dixonians, and Bournville. The event culminates
in the late afternoon with trophy presentations and local Oasis Tribute
Band, "Fat Ankles", playing in the clubhouse. The day is
organised by Selly Oak RFC and supported by Moseley Rugby Club and the
Greater Birmingham RFU.
